Meet the Teachers...

Jon Ethridge; founded Musicmakers back in 2001 when the business had just one customer per week. Four years on and he teaches piano, keyboard, organ, singing and theory of music to over 50 people at 3 different venues across Bristol. Originally a trainee on a scheme run by the Royal School of Church Music, Jon was organist and Director of Music at St Francis Church, Ashton Gate, from 1994 until 2004, during which time he played at literally hundreds of weddings, funerals, special occasions and Sunday morning services, as well as overseeing the development and growth of a strong choir. Since 2001 he has been a singing coach at the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts/Centre for Voice based in the Tobacco Factory in Southville and was one of two visiting music teachers at 344 Dance Centre in Fishponds for 4 years.

He currently plays the organ for weddings and funerals at a number of venues across south Bristol.

Jon's youngest student is six years old and the oldest (whose identity he has promised to keep secret !) is over 80.

Jon is available to teach piano, organ, keyboard, singing and theory of music.

Troy Lake; Troy, an entirely self taught musician, has been playing for many years and has taken both trumpet and theory of music examinations at the highest level. An experienced player and performer, Troy has at various times been a member of a local marching band and has played at numerous weddings, Remembrance Day events and special occasions. Troy is available to teach trumpet and is experienced in teaching beginners and more advanced players alike.
